My Journey with Amazing Grace Anglican Chuch, Obosi.
During my postulant years as a seminarian at Trinity Theological College, Umuahia, I found a spiritual home at Amazing Grace Church. The then Reverend, now VenerableGoddy Iloka , was the Vicar of the parish, and under his pastoral leadership my life and ministry were deeply shaped. He opened the doors of the church and the pulpit to me throughout my four years in seminary, giving me countless opportunities to minister. Those years of practical ministry not only strengthened my theological training but also grounded me in the life of the church.
Amazing Grace became more than just a station for me it became my home church, a family that embraced me with love and support. Their presence at my ordination was a profound reminder of the bond we had built together. They stood by me through prayers, encouragement, and unwavering support, embodying what it means for a parish to nurture one of its own. Today, when I speak of Venerable Godiloka, I speak not only of a mentor but of a father in the faith a man whose humility, guidance, and fatherly spirit left an indelible mark on my journey as a priest.
This bond was renewed and deepened today, as the same Amazing Grace Church honored me with an Award of Excellence in the Service of God. I am profoundly grateful to the current Vicar, Reverend CanonOnyebuchi Obinwa, for his leadership and vision, and to the Lord Bishop on the Niger for his fatherly oversight. My special thanks also go to the Sub-Dean, who graciously represented me through one of his clergy, and to all the faithful of Amazing Grace Obosi whose love and recognition have touched me deeply.
Amazing Grace, I thank you sincerely for remembering me, for standing with me from my seminary days until now, and for recognizing me with this great honor today. You have written your name permanently in my heart. Indeed, I am very grateful.
