When Primate Henry Ndukuba came on board, the Church of Nigeria North American Mission (CONNAM) was in a very different state. Before his leadership, we had no clear geographical boundaries. We were scattered, operating without proper coordination, and in some cases, even working against each other. It was not unusual to find three dioceses in one city or even in the same county, with clergy locked in unnecessary rivalries.

Primate Ndukuba saw the need to put things in order—and he did not waste time. With a shepherd’s heart and a leader’s discipline, he reorganized our mission structure. For the first time in years, we began to see ourselves not as competing dioceses, but as one united people, bound together by the same faith, heritage, and mission.

Under his guidance, CONNAM is no longer a scattered mission. He brought clarity to our boundaries, order to our administration, and peace among our clergy. His effort to keep us together is not about avoiding other churches; rather, it is about preserving our identity as Nigerians in the diaspora, ensuring we remain strong and united. He understands that most of our parishes here in America were started by lay people many of whom were seeking a safe place to worship free from racial and cultural oppression. Today, through his leadership, we have established our own thriving church community that celebrates both our Anglican tradition and our Nigerian heritage.
One of the Primate’s most commendable achievements is strengthening our relationship with the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). He has worked tirelessly to unite us with ACNA, recognizing them as a sister church. His leadership has encouraged us to collaborate, attend each other’s conferences, and build bonds that go beyond what is visible. We belong to the same GAFCON family, we speak with one voice, and we stand together in the defense of biblical truth. Primate Ndukuba is not a divisive leader he is a decisive leader who builds bridges, not walls. This article stands as a testimony that the Church of Nigeria and CONNAM are truly in love with ACNA.
In the past five years, the Primate has also strengthened our connection to the Church of Nigeria while ensuring we have a respected place in the wider Anglican Communion. He works effectively with the national church in Nigeria and with the global church, making CONNAM a recognized and respected mission within the Anglican world. His leadership has given us stability, purpose, and a shared direction.

The truth is, we Nigerians are comfortable with ourselves, and keeping our community united abroad is key and paramount. Primate Ndukuba’s vision for CONNAM has given us a platform to worship, grow, and serve together as one body. We are now better organized, better connected, and better positioned for the future than we have ever been.
In conclusion, history will remember that in these five years, Primate Henry Ndukuba took a scattered and struggling mission and shaped it into a united, focused, and vibrant arm of the Church of Nigeria one that values fellowship with our sister church, ACNA, and stands strong in our Anglican and Nigerian identity. Ndukuba and the whole of CONNAM are better today because of his leadership and for that, we are grateful..
